Bayonet clip
Bayonet clips are retaining elements for axles, bolts and shafts with groove. They are clipped to the bolt with the tongue facing upwards and therefore prevent the unwanted loosening of the bolt in the axial direction.
It should be noted that this type of retainer is suitable only for a certain distance (= dimension "n") between the groove and the end of the shaft. The tongue, which gives the bayonet its name, is tensioned and cannot therefore simply be pushed to any desired depth.
Bayonet clips can be disassembled again.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are bayonet clips and what are they used for?
Bayonet clips are retainers that prevent the unintended loosening of axles, bolts, and shafts with groove in the axial direction. They are clipped onto the bolt using a precisely shaped tab to ensure a reliable and secure connection.
What material is used for bayonet clips?
At mbo Osswald, we offer bayonet clips made of spring band steel, available with electr. galvanised white or phosphatised oiled surface.
What sizes are available for bayonet clips?
The clips are available in sizes from 4 mbo 06 to 16 mbo 06.
How do bayonet clips work?
The clips are simply snapped onto the bolt, with the tensioned tab ensuring a secure hold and preventing unintended release in the axial direction.
What advantages do bayonet clips offer?
They are easy to assemble and disassemble, reliable, reusable, space-saving, universally applicable, and cost-efficient.
What are the application areas for bayonet clips?
They are used, among other things, in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, precision mechanics, installation technology, and the furniture industry.
How is a bayonet clip installed?
The clip is positioned onto the groove of the bolt or axle and gently pushed down until the tab clicks into place.
What is dimension n and why is it important?
Dimension n is the distance between the groove and the end of the shaft, and it must be maintained precisely to ensure secure fastening.
What safety precautions should be observed during assembly?
Wear appropriate protective equipment such as gloves and safety goggles, and regularly check the condition of the clips.
Are bayonet clips reusable?
Yes, the clips are easy to disassemble and can be reused multiple times, making them cost-effective.
What conditions must be considered for storing bayonet clips?
